But in fairness, it doesn’t take a Trump fan to realize what he is getting at, and shooting someone ain’t it.

That’s a great quote. The thing is that the folks making hay out of what Trump said are choosing what they want to hear. They could take the high road and say something like, “We realize that this is not what Doofus Brain was saying, but it didn’t sound right.”

The difference between Trump and every candidate before him is that he probably will not clarify what he meant. He’ll say “people can interpret that however they want” which is both incredibly reckless and dangerous.

Here’s the trouble: in this particular case, Trump is absolutely correct in his assertion, though he chose his words poorly. Trump’s other remarks have been bona fide stupid-ass, shallow, violent, hateful and shit-stirring.

Saying something stupid is stupid for you. Fostering the idea that the election is rigged is sedition.

Oppos whom I respect have said that I can be overly glib, and they may be correct. Beyond that, I'm not sure how to respond to your comment.

I meant trumps commits regarding Clinton today are stupid and poorly laid out. The ones that disturb me more and he’s been saying multiple times (and definitely not a slip up) is how the election is going to be rigged is distructive to the electoral process an should be drawing attention.

But Trump is correct, even if his word choice is intentionally misleading. The system is biased toward insiders and it's a miracle that he is nominated.

took a page out of Hillary’s book with her remarks towards Obama in 2008. These two are nimrods. All these choices and this is what we get. ( -__-)

I’m not taking this shit seriously anymore, I’m just sitting back and enjoying the view. Either way, it feels that whoever gets elected is going to get impeached. Btw not voting for either of the 4.
Anyone want to go karting?

His campaign staff, as well as supporters like Giuliani, are claiming that he meant:
“What he meant by that was you have the power to vote against her...” (Rudy Giuliani)
“Obviously you’re saying that there’s a strong political movement within the Second Amendment, and if people mobilize and vote, they can stop Hillary from having this impact on the court...”(Sean Hannity)
But that doesn’t make any sense, when what Trump said, word for word, was:

Now at a point in time when “she gets to pick... her judges” then she must obviously have already been elected by that time, so it would be too late to “vote against her” or “mobilize to vote.” So what exactly is that thing “the second amendment people “ can do that he refers to with “...maybe there is...”? What post-election action is he talking about? Are you going to tell me with a straight face that there is any other interpretation to his statement other than suggesting armed rebellion against the government?
I know, I know, it’s totally unfair to subject the words of Trump to the kind of logical analysis you use on ordinary rational speech. When a regular politician utters a sentence, we usually assume he supports and means to express the idea that ordinary English-speakers would understand that sentence to mean. But I don’t suppose this applies to Trump, who only uses words as a musician uses musical notes or a painter uses daubs of paint or a dancer uses dance moves: as means of expression of wordless, thoughtless emotions.

Impeachment seems unlikely. Resign in scandal to be pardoned later? Heck of a thought though. I'll vote, probably for Mrs. Clinton. Mr. Sanders' influence on the Dem platform has made HC a shade less intolerable and I think that electing the first woman POTUS has some merit. Trump is unstable and very bad news.

Though some in this space might might not feel the same, I do consider myself to be an avid wordsmith. Nothing pains me more than reading a transcript of anything that issues forth from Donald J. Trump’s mouth. But ration demands fairness and I personally do not believe that DJT actually meant that someone should shoot Mrs. Clinton, though in his choice of words, he skated dangerously close to the line.
I wish Mitt Romney were the Republican nominee this time. The Clinton campaign would be in the casket showroom choosing finishes.

Well, then, what could he have meant? Did he mean anything at all? As I said, you can’t convince me he meant “the second amendment people” can do something about Clinton’s judges by voting, because the fact that she’s appointing judges means she’s already been elected. At best, or rather at least bad, I might be persuaded to believe that he was gibbering, and what he said literally means nothing.

Yes the primary system is biased to the party, as the party gets to make its own rules. It is what comes by joining a party the rules and by-laws go with it.
What I’m referring to is trumps insist range that if he looses the November election, its due to voter fraud https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/for-t…
Which takes the birther movement (attempt to delegitimise the president ) at a 5, up to 12.

The voter fraud argument is a blatantly racist Republican strategy that predates Donald Trump. Which is not to day that I do not agree with you 100%.

If Trump, in his “serious” mode still makes gives the vibe that he can't figure out nuclear weapons or how economies work, I'm pretty sure that is going to carry to the White House. Quite a few republicans are not the biggest fans of him, and will be ready to pounce when he does some stupid shit. Meanwhile, HRC has the Clinton foundation. That is riddled with impeachment.
